And according to research, women are more likely to land a job if they wear makeup to an interview, with more than two thirds of British bosses saying they'd be less likely to employ a female job applicant if she didn't wear makeup. Similar studies found that there's a strong psychological element to wearing makeup in the workplace; with women noting they feel more poised, confident and 'put together' with their slap on. So how can women achieve the polished, professional look without looking overdone? Hannah Martin, a Senior Pro Artist at Bobbi Brown, has created the look she says will see you taken seriously in the office. One make-up artist believes there is - and she's shared a five-step guide to 'confidence make-up' - a technique she says takes a woman from 'pretty' to 'pretty powerful' in just five minutes in the morning. Speaking about the concept, Hannah Martin, from London, said: 'While many women use make-up well to enhance their features, there are many who try to conceal their looks. Sometimes women want to disguise a feature or hide behind a "make-up mask". Inspired by legendary make-up artist Bobbi Brown, for whom Hannah works, she wants to show that with a little make-up and the right tools and techniques, women can look and feel at their best. Each stage makes me feel more confident as I'm correcting and enhancing as I go.
