Session 4: Logistics & Transportation Trends Survey Results

Will new tools fix our old problems?

The current state of freight transportation management has many of the same hallmarks as the past. And while shippers are assessing new technologies to better manage and streamline operations, the results of our “27th Annual Study on Trends and Issues in Logistics & Transportation Survey” suggest that these new tools alone will not solve the age-old problems that logistics and supply chain professionals are still facing.

Companies across all industries are struggling to find the capacity they need while managing escalating costs. So, the question remains: How did we get to this current state when the tools and technologies available have never been more powerful or readily accessible by supply chain operations of all sizes?

In this session our panel set out to answer that question as they put context around the findings of this annual report including:

  • Which age-old transportation management challenges still exist
  • To what extent leading logistics operations are adopting technology tools
  • How to overcome these persistent management barriers
